Know Hope.® This is the mission of Tina’s Wish, a non-profit organization dedicated to funding groundbreaking scientific research for the early detection and prevention of ovarian cancer.  Tina’s Wish was founded in memory of the Honorable Tina Brozman, former chief judge of the SDNY Bankruptcy Court who died two years after she was diagnosed – too late – with ovarian cancer. Since its inception in 2008, Tina’s Wish has raised more than $20 million and is currently awarding $1.3 million annually in private grants for cutting edge research.


Tina’s Wish is seeking a Manager, Events & Communications, to join a team that executes a robust portfolio of fundraising and cultivation events annually. This position will be an integral part of a dynamic and fast-paced development team that plans and executes a range of special events in NYC, Boston, Richmond, and Washington, D.C. with anticipated growth in other emerging markets.

The Manager will be responsible for the vision, planning and execution of a subset of Tina’s Wish’s virtual and in-person fundraising events and meetings. With leadership from the Director of Events, support from the Events Associates, and partnership with volunteer committees, the Manager will manage all aspects of the events and will support the fundraising and cultivation efforts of the overall team in order to build strong donor relationships.


Responsibilities will include:

  • Manage all event elements ranging from 10-250 participants, including pre-planning meetings, creative vision, event timelines, budget and vendor management, donor communication, pre-event logistics, run of show development and day of execution
  • Provide leadership in the creation and execution of a communications plan for each event, including save the dates, invitations, event decks, sponsorship recognition, program content, and other event-related collateral, including hard copy and digital marketing materials
  • Utilize creativity and solid program knowledge to create compelling donor experiences and communications
  • Establish and cultivate relationships with key event participants including donors, board members, committee members, program participants, and partner organizations
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with event vendors and continually research new vendors for upcoming events
  • Manage administrative needs for special events and donor stewardship projects, materials, budgets, timelines
  • Develop, document, and continually refine models for different types of Tina’s Wish events that can be replicated and scaled as needed
  • Learn about the Tina’s Wish mission and community and proactively partner with senior leadership to strengthen and advance stewardship of board members, donors, and prospects



  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2+ years of event management experience or 4+ years of event assistance and ready to take the next step; experience in the nonprofit sector preferred
  • Demonstrated success in planning successful fundraising and cultivation events including but not limited to: working with event venues, contract management, a/v companies, Zoom and other event and presentation platforms
  • Strong interpersonal communications skills (verbal, presentation, and written)
  • Exceptional time management skills; strong attention to detail and ability to manage a high volume of projects and deadlines simultaneously, and adapt to changing deliverables & timelines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Knowledge of a donor management software platform; Etapestry or Raiser’s Edge is a plus
  • Enthusiasm and commitment to the Tina’s Wish mission and the passion to inspire action and engagement among our supporters



  • The Tina’s Wish team works on a hybrid schedule; typically two (2) days per week in our NYC midtown office
  • Staff are expected to be available during Tina’s Wish normal hours of operation, from 9am-5pm EST; periodic additional time required for in-person events and to meet project deliverables and deadlines; flexibility for periodic early morning and evening commitments; domestic travel for events 2-4 times per year
  • Hands-on involvement in execution of event setup
  • Candidates will be required to show proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 upon commencing employment
  • Salary range: $75-$85k, eligible for performance-based bonus annually
