About Project

Circulating and shed biomarkers for early detection of ovarian cancer

PROJECT SUMMARY

It has recently been discovered that the precursor lesion for most ovarian cancer resides at the end of the fallopian tube, and therefore early detection of ovarian cancer will stem from this source. Drs. Levine and Roche developed new tissue-based biomarkers as early detectors of ovarian cancer and which can be obtained from blood specimens and uterine fluid. They plan to compare the levels of known ovarian cancer DNA fragments and biomarkers in blood versus uterine fluid.
