MARCUS SOUTHERN SUMMER PARTY
Lanie and Chris Marcus welcomed over 130 guests to their beautiful Sands Point home for a southern summer party on Thursday, July 13th in support of Tina’s Wish. The evening raised more than $120,000 for early detection ovarian cancer research.
The Marcus’ annual event honors the memory of Lanie’s late mother, Nadine Fladell, who passed away in 2013 from Stage III ovarian cancer at 63 years young. Nadine was a mother, grandmother, friend and confidante. She fought this terrible disease for eight years.
This year’s program opened with a heartfelt welcome from Lanie, followed by words from Tina’s Wish board member, Chief Judge Cecelia Morris of the SDNY Bankruptcy Court. Attendees also heard from Dr. Kara Long Roche, a gynecologic oncologist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and one of the 2017/18 Tina’s Wish funded researchers.
Many thanks to all of the sponsors and to everyone who contributed in support of this special event.
