LUNCH AND LEARN AT WEIL, GOTSHAL & MANGES

Twenty-five (25) attendees from Weil’s Boston office joined Tina’s Wish for “Coffee-with-a-Cause” to learn about ovarian cancer, often termed the silent killer.

Patrick O’Toole, Partner in the Weil Boston office and member of the Tina’s Wish Boston Leadership team shared with us about the personal loss of his mother who was only 51 years young when she lost her 4.5 month battle to ovarian cancer when he was only in high school.

Dr. Joyce Liu, gynecologic oncologist from Dana Farber Cancer Institute, explained about ovarian cancer and where doctors believe the disease now begins; she highlighted the often benign signs and symptoms and how to determine if one is at high-risk for developing this disease. In addition, she explained why early detection is critical to the fight against this insidious disease.

Many thanks to Melanie Conroy, Senior Associate and Meagan Farias of Weil for all of their help in coordinating and hosting this event for ovarian cancer awareness.
